Bray's Tax Service was established by Peter Bray in 1975. Peter began his tax service by visiting clients in their homes, establishing a long standing tradition of personalized service. Bray’s Tax Service eventually opened offices in Fairfield, Stamford and Norwalk, Connecticut.

In 1985 Bray’s Tax Service consolidated their offices in their current location in a historic building in the Saugatuck section of Westport, Connecticut. After preparing tax returns and advising clients for twenty-eight years, Peter retired in 2003.

Doreen Bray, Enrolled Agent

Doreen Bray joined her brother Peter’s firm as a preparer in 1979 and became an Enrolled Agent in 1982, which is a person empowered by the US Dept of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. She became partner in 1985, and then President of Bray’s Tax Service, Inc. in 2003 when Peter retired.

She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute, a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners, and a member the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce.

Kathleen Karlson, Accredited Tax Preparer

Kathy has been in the tax business for over 25 years and joined Bray’s Tax Service in 1986. She specializes in sole proprietorships and individual taxes. She is a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute, a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners, a member the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce, and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation.

Marc Goodman, CPA

Marc graduated from the University of Connecticut where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in the School of Business Administration.

Marc has been preparing taxes since 1981 and uses his extensive experience to provide business and individual clients with professional and personalized accounting, tax planning, preparation and consulting services.

He is a member of the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce, UConn Alumni Association, AICPA, and CSCPA.

Bruce D. Katz, Esquire

Bruce Katz practices in the areas of individual and business taxation, estate planning, real estate, corporate and general business law.

Bruce earned his B.B.A. in accounting from George Washington University in 1981 and his law degree, Cum Laude, from Boston University School of Law in 1987. He is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and Massachusetts and is also a CPA.

Bruce is Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors for CLASP Homes, Inc., which is a not-for-profit organization providing homes and opportunities to adults with mental retardation and related disabilities.
